1. Different Application Fields.
EPS power supply is mainly used for electrical equipment in the fire protection industry. It features the function of continuous power supply to ensure the need for power protection and fire protection. Most importantly, the EPS can provide emergency lighting and fire emergency in time. Generally speaking, fire emergency lighting and fire power equipment use EPS for emergent use.

2. Both EPS and UPS can provide two selective output power supply, but they have some difference in the designs of rectifier/charger and inverter.

On the other hand, EPS features energy saving and mains priority. The EPS power supply is used offline and is the last power supply guarantee. If the EPS can not supply power by battery for emergency when the mains fails, then EPS is useless and severe consequences will occur.
3. The working principle is different.
Whether the mains power is normal or not, the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is always powered by the inverter according to the way of mains input-rectification (charging)-inversion-output. Only when the inverter is faulty or overloaded, the UPS is powered by bypass.
When there is mains power for EPS, the mains power outputs through KM1 and the charger charges the battery at the same time. When the control system detects that the mains power is out of power or the mains is too low, KM2 is closed, the inverter works and the switch is switched to be in the emergency output state to provide electrical energy to the load.
4. The degree of internal redundancy is different.
The redundancy of the EPS power inverter is large, the incoming and outgoing cabinets are both inside the EPS, and there is a variable frequency start for the motor load. The housing and wires have flame-retardant features and have multi-channel mutual input power, which can be linked with fire protection. The EPS power load is generally inductive and resistive, can be equipped with motors, lighting, fans, water pumps and other emergency fire protection products and is a dedicated emergency fire lighting power supply for centralized emergency power supply.
However, the inverter redundancy of UPS power supply is relatively small, has nothing to do with fire protection, does not need fire resistance and has no mutual input function.
