Features
The small isolation transformer is a dry type isolation transformer. Peaco Support provides custom isolation transformer with special input and output voltages. For example, 240V to 240V isolation transformer, 440V to 230V step down transformer, 380V to 460V step up transformer, etc can be also customized. The three phase isolation transformers in Peaco Support have the following features and benefits:

  1. Silicon Steel Sheet: New cold rolled silicon steel sheet, 0.27mm, 0.30mm, 0.35mm of thickness, excellent performance.
  2. Terminal Block: High quality terminal block, excellent temperature resistance, pressure resistance and flame retardancy for small power. For high power, made of quality copper material, with good electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance, not easy to burn out the equipment when short circuit happens.
  3. Enameled Wires: H class enamelled copper/aluminum wires, temperature resistance 200℃, winded tightly and uniformly, no insulating layer, high heat dissipation, service life ≥35 years.
  4. Bobbin: Made of nylon, high temperature resistance, great flame retardancy. The high power transformer with frameless design has ventilation slots between the coils for smooth air flows which reduce temperature of coils.

KNOWLEDGE BASE --- Why is an iron core used in 3 phase isolation transformers?
The transformer is made based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. There is no direct magnetic connection between the primary and secondary windings of dual-winding and three-winding transformers. If the transformer does not have an iron core, theoretically, although there is a voltage transformation function, due to the large magnetic resistance in the air, the magnetic leakage is very serious. Therefore, a large excitation current is required and the transformer equipped with an iron core has a good magnetic resistance due to the iron core. A stronger magnetic field can be obtained through iron core, thereby enhancing the electromagnetic induction of the primary and secondary windings and then reduce the excitation current.If an iron core is not used in transformer, the excitation current will increase due to the extremely large magnetic leakage.
Thus, it is impossible for 3 phase isolation transformer not to be installed with an iron core.
