In general, when wind passes through the wind turbine, almost half of the air is forced to stay around the blades instead of passing through them and the energy in the wind is lost. Only 59.3% of the wind energy can be used on traditional wind turbines and this value is called the Betz limit.
The design of wind turbines based on jet engine technology overcomes a basic defect existing in traditional wind turbines. The wind turbine blades are covered with shields to guide air to pass through the blades and accelerate them, which increases electricity production. Wind turbines are like the air intakes of jet engines. When air enters, it first encounters a set of fixed blades called a stator, which can guide the air into a set of rotatable blades (the rotor).
